Can't think of a decent title.

Was Hitler wrong in Genocide-ing millions of people?
Let's take it back a bit and define the elements of what wrong is.

incorrect: not correct; not in conformity with fact or truth.

Not really useful, but it says in correct.

So was Hitler incorrect to kill millions of people?
I'm sure you all have your answers, that's beside the point.
I don't think Hitler was wrong. Nor do I think he was right.
"BUT HE MUST BE WRONG LOL! KILLING PEOPLE IS TEH RONG THING 2 DO!"

Says who?
Are all of you in a higher moral high ground to judge whether Hitler was "wrong" in his doings?

Or because what he did was so "wrong", Hitler is reduced and deemed inferior as a human being.

Well are you in any position to judge that either? Can you prove that it was wrong?
Will a feeling suffice? A feeling of immoral pain, a feeling of self-righteousness.
Is that really enough? How do you prove a gut feeling? How can you even consider using a gut feeling to justify your conclusions? For that matter, how do you justify a right choice? If it makes you content? If you get a "feeling" of goodness inside you? I'm afraid that just won't cut it either.

For that matter. I don't think Hitler was wrong. This doesn't mean I think he was right either.

Let's put it on a smaller scale. A man is convicted of murder of his wife who cheated on him. Is he wrong?

A policeman shoots a serial murderer as his knife was about to plunge six inches into his next victim's head. Is the policeman right?

Think whatever you want to think, I'm just putting my thoughts out there.
Do you really think you are on a ground to judge? That your opinion is the "right" one?

I don't think so. We are all human, aren't we all equal?
I'm in a position where I'd like to think there is no one in existence who is able to judge others right or wrong.
So if there is no one to label it right or wrong, does right or wrong exist?
We all have a skewed vision of right and wrong, from what society tells us to believe. Like the sheep we are, we follow that. Does anyone have a better view of right and wrong? Even yet, can anyone judge whether their vision of right and wrong is the "right" one?
And thus we fall into a seemingly infinite paradox where all views on right and wrong are different, since no one to my knowledge is in a position to judge that.

So if we don't have truthful insights of right and wrong? Are they nothing but what society tells us to believe?
Which brings me to my point.
There are no right or wrong choices in life. There may be mistakes made, but you will be made a better person for that. Let no one judge you.

Yes. I'm a hypocrite, but so is everyone else.

  1. screw talking about hitler
most people are just as bad as him...
think about it...people that consume meat are technically committing genocide on the animals.
firstly the definition of genocide is: the systematic killing of a group, may that be religious, racial, national etc. Is it not then genocide to kill animals and eat them? It ticks the boxes of the definition of genocide: systematic killing...yep and a group-cows and pigs can be defined as groups...so yep
after all, humans are just animals except we are smarter than the rest of them and we have become the superior species on this planet
So...its not right to take the moral high ground on hitler...not that im defending him...its just that people are just as bad

Also, i would have to disagree with you saying that there are no right or wrong choices in lives... you even said it yourself in the next line. What is a mistake? a WRONG choice
you just contradicted yourself in the very next sentence:P

and before you say im a hypocritical bitch or whatever...i must admit that im not perfect and that i too consume meat...although i am slowly becoming vegetarian...

well thats what i think about this topic...

  2. Well, you're right, we kill animals and consume them, so do they.

Why are we the more superior species?

    Definition of mistake.
mistake ( ) n. An error or fault resulting from defective judgment, deficient knowledge, or carelessness.

It's a choice made irrationally due to lack of information, didn't say wrong :).

    Thanks for input man.

  4. You posted some synonyms of Mistake.

Definition of synonym (noun) form: synonyms a word having almost the same meaning as some other.

    Almost the same meaning. Almost.
Besides, I'd be reluctant to accept synonyms of mistake that include "err, goof, put foot in".

  6. wow nice ..
err did anybody actually say that we are a superior species?
we'd like to believe it, but nobody has any real evidence. really, we're animals.

personally, i believe hitler is wrong. yes, because of my own feelings. and i reckon that basically, in short terms, that cuts it.

if you really need to go deep, then ..
well, think of it this way.
put yourself in the position of all the people hitler tortured, killed, forced to do horrible things.

even if you were to try to put yourself in the position of hitler. he mustve been delusional to believe that what he was doing was the right thing.

    yes, right, wrong. interesting arguements.

"There may be mistakes made, but you will be made a better person for that. Let no one judge you."

mm let no one judge you? personally i dont believe we have the power to do that.
i think... maybe.. what youre trying to say.. could be..

even though people may judge you, you shouldnt give a shit. =]
