Yeah okay.
Say I call you an idiot. Let it go. I really don't get why people take offense to things that aren't true. If it's not true, why is there a need to take offense to it? If someone was called a moron;
moron
Noun
1. Informal, derogatory a foolish or stupid person
2. (formerly) a person having an intelligence quotient of between 50 and 70 [Greek mōros foolish]
moronic adj
if you're not either of them, then why is there a need to even humor the idea? By taking offense you're only making it worse for yourself. So what's so bad about name calling? Just walk away, make the dolt on the former end of the stick look like an ass.
What's even worse is when half these labels don't even make sense and people still take offense to them. Need I make examples?
So unless if it's true, let it go. If it's true, then by all means, react whatever.
In the end, people lie, are hypocritical and conform like sheep, who cares what they think?
Yeah, I actually don't have anything better to blog about.
In Other News.
1. New Blog Layout, I plan to make my own soon enough.
2. 4chan is down. Oh mai gawt.
I'll attempt to blog about a topic worth discussing next time :P
2. (formerly) a person having an intelligence quotient of between 50 and 70 [Greek mōros foolish]
ReplyDeleteLOL.
Insults are insults. They have the intention to put you down emotionally, it is something our natural morals tells us is a wrongdoing. Unless it's a joke. "Haha, you moron."
"You could say our lives as social beings are ruled by the three R's:
Respect—the sense that proper deference has been paid to our status.
Reputation—the carefully maintained perception of our qualities.
Reciprocity—the belief that our actions are responded to fairly."
Insults offend all three, don't they?
Disrespectful, destroying your reputation, and also insults always seem to be the thing to say to show indifference.
Who doesn't hate indifference?
Sorry to open a debate but I was bored. (:
Those three R's are mad.
ReplyDeleteThey'd work for a GTFO abuse as well.
Which is where you could you probably follow the rules and try to refute the argument. Or when it's true, you could probably get defensive about that, pointing out that you don't want your feelings hurt.
Some people don't like being called: fat, stinky, ugly, loser, gay, but really, when it's not true, I doubt the insult itself hurt them, but the fact that there's someone out there who thinks of them that way. I THINK.
Yes, insults offend all three R's, which were made by people, made by a society that wants fair treatment on everyone, i.e. the sheep.
I really dislike the majority rules theory of everything. Especially because it's been thought up by people.
People lie, people are hypocrites, people care too much about the stupidest things.
Yes I've gone off on a tangent, I'm bored.
We really wouldn't have this problem if some people used a privilege given to them [brain] and thought for themselves, rather than letting society tell them what to think.
E.g.
Blah, government is corrupt.
Blah, George Bush was behind 9/11.
Blah, There's no such thing as Global Warming e.t.c.
I promise you, ask on any forum, with a good mix of people, if the government is corrupt, and most of them will willingly say yes, without substandard reasoning.
Sure, if there's genuine hurt to the insults, I swear I'll hand out some tissues to wipe away the QQ, but that's it from me.
Tl;dr, it's only natural for our feelings to get hurt when we are insulted, but give it some decent thought, and then try to dredge some care from give a shit bay.
