Thoughts on Heroes Questions

1. Would Sylar get all of Peters' powers if he were to kill Peter?

Yes. Think about it. Sylar's power = see how things work. Peter's power is mimicry, in the sense that he is able to alter his genetic code and genes in order to mime the powers that he sees around him. Some genes will be turned off, but the genetic make up is still there. With Sylar killing Peter, Sylar would be able to see how Peter's power works, and the only logical inference then, is that Sylar would be able to see the genes of Peter, and thus absorb his genes, and alter his genes, with the newly given power from Peter, or from his innate ability to absorb powers, which presumably come from an altercation in the genetic code.

P1. Peter has an ability to mimic the powers he has around him.
P2. The addition and mimicry of powers is due to a change in a genetic code.
Con. Peter's power works by altering the genetic code to mimic the powers around him.

P1. Sylar's ability is to see and understand how things work, what makes them tick.
P2. Peter's power works by altering the genetic code to mimic the powers around him.
Con. Sylar will be able to see and understand how Peter's power works if he was so inclined.

From this, Sylar will be able to see how Peter's power works, how the mimicry works, ergo, the changes in the genes and genetic code. Therefore, if Sylar were to take on Peter's power, he'd be able to see which genes code for which powers (as that is the nature of Peter's power, to take on different powers by altering his genes). And it would make sense then, that Sylar could alter his own genetic code in order to attain those powers. Sylar could do this either with Peter's ability, which is the ability to alter the DNA code and code for powers, or he could do it with his innate ability given within his power to see how things work.

Yeah?

Trying to find more questions that can be logically answered, but it's hard, because the rest of the questions have been answered by plotholes.

e.g.

Why the fuck didn't Nathan just heal himself after Sylar slits his throat, given that he was given a transfusion from Adam Monroe?

Actually, on second thought that kind of makes sense too.

Given that the powers of each individual, cellular regeneration, stems from the notion that a change in the DNA code causes the ability to come about, only people with the correct genetic make up can have the corresponding ability.

As a result of this, Adam Monroe, with his change in the DNA code, would be able to continuously produce blood that has properties of cellular regeneration. Nathan Petrelli only has the DNA altercation that would allow him to levitate and fly without any aid. So during the transfusion, it must be concluded that the blood donated to Nathan by Adam Monroe was a limited resource, as Nathan lacked the genetic make up to produce any more of Adam's blood which could give rise to cellular regeneration.

Ergo, when Nathan's throat is slit at the end of Volume 3, Nathan cannot revive himself.

This brings me to a second point.

Noah must have survived being shot in the eye by Mohinder Suresh if he was given a blood transfusion from Claire, who also has blood with the properties of cellular regeneration. How would his body have been able to take up Claire's blood if his body could not pump blood, because he would have been dead. In order for Noah Bennet to have taken up Claire's blood, ergo have limited regeneration abilities, he must have been able to survive being shot in the eye, from near point blank range.

Will post more as I think of more.

  1. Yeah, um, Heroes did a lot of retconning and stuff like that. Chances are questions like "Why the fuck was Peter such an inconsistent whiny little bitch?" will probably never be answered. sozza brozza

  2. My biggest question for Peter was, what the fuck was he doing just standing with his back turned for Sylar when Sylar was throwing glass everywhere. He had at least a good 15 seconds to get the fuck outta dodge, or pistol whip Sylar.
