Shit tutors.

Readers, you know I'm a nice guy, right?

Regardless, I feel it is my civic duty as a student, and as a blogger, to let it be made known when people are, crudely put, filthy crooks.

ARTICLE #1.

Name: John Healy.
Association: Tailored Education Mobile Tutoring.
Contact: http://tailorededucation.webs.com/

Qualifies in English, International Politics, Literature, and other stuff I didn't listen to.
Please do not use his services, they are overpriced, and for what you get, they are mediocre.

Registered Teacher

Sorta comes with the job buddy.

Tutoring at your home, library or place of work

Again, most one on one tutors offer this, nothing to make a big hoo-hah about.

Individual learning programs

I do not consider reading off a website [http://www.englishbiz.co.uk] for an hour individual learning programs, far from it. I certainly refuse to pay $55 an hour to sit down and listen to you read off a computer screen. Especially since I now know the site and I can do it faster, more efficiently, and save myself $55 in the process.

Sure, you give me notes relating to my texts, but without you actually reading any of my set texts, it's pretty godamn useless. I mean, you can only judge things from a strict grammatical perspective if you don't know what the hell's going on. Besides, teachers will generally give you notes and exegesis's.

After school, weekend and school holiday tutoring

Somebody get this guy an Oscar.

Building on student’s strengths, identifying and addressing any weaknesses

Again, if you're not doing that, what the fuck do you think you're meant to be doing?

Computerised and traditional teaching methods

Getting a bit ahead of yourself here, you read off a computer screen for an hour, you copy and paste text to a word document (which you can't do properly half the time), and you read off paper. Hardly computerized, hardly traditional, hell, it's hardly teaching.

Active parent/guardian feedback

Oscar's coming anytime now, I promise.

Assistance with reviewing and editing student’s work

You do that, once every fortnight, and you have a window of one hour to do it in, that's hardly a fair statement. The guy doesn't offer any assistance outside of the two hours you pay for. Shocking.

Flexible program and payment options

He does not allow anything shorter than two hours. Hardly flexible. Payment options, I'd rather not pay for the service I'm provided with to be honest.

All Primary and selected Secondary subjects covered

Lies.

Support for school and university students for whom English is their second language

I can see how you'd be credible for that, you might have something going for you there.

But yeah, all in all $110 can be oh so well better spent.

Guy's fucking shit y'all.
