You're supposed to sit down and write what you think, not sit down and think what to write.

So what the hell am I doing now? Caught with a severe case of writer's block, I'm afraid this is as captivating as my blog will be for a while, [there shouldn't be much of a difference ;D.]

No seriously, pardon my lack of posting for now, I'm sure Writer's Block will go away soon.

Jesus, when I put it like that, maybe there might be something in this after all, we shall see.

So today essentially marks the halfway point of the term 1 holidays for all you high schoolers too busy maxing to read this, I don't blame you, I should be doing something more productive than this as well.

So aside from a short chapter of Biology completed, I can't say these holidays have been fruitfully productive, in all areas in fact. I haven't seen enough TV for me to be satisfied [that sounds awfully incorrect grammatically], I haven't played enough games to be satisfied with myself, I haven't done enough work to be satisfied, but I've probably slept the equivalent of 70+ hours these holidays so far, and damnit, I feel quite revitalized.
But when put into context, all this fresh energy -sourced from sleep- is being thrown away, and it feels quite wasteful. So a thought, and a formula!
x hours slept = 3x/4 hours doing work the next day.

I think following that formula will do me wonders, we shall see.

Saddeningly enough, that's probably the only thing I have thought about these past few days, that I can remember anyway.
But, not all is lost for this post, I have two pretty cool events to report back on that make my holidays seem eventful enough.

- Alice In Wonderland in 3D.
- Ron Mueck Display.

The Alice In Wonderland move in 3D was pretty damned amazing. Though it wasn't one of those "duck-or-shit's-gonna-hit-me" type of 3D movies [I'm looking at you Avatar], the visuals did not at once in the movie fail to disappoint, 10/10 for visuals. I feel that simply describing the scenes, any scene, at all in the movie will butcher it, and serve nothing but injustice towards the movie, so if you want to know what I'm talking about, watch it, in 3D. It's effing brilliant.

Story wise, those of you who haven't read the book will not be put to sleep, the movie takes place as Alice revisits Wonderland, to save it once again from the Red Queen, played by Helena Bonham Carter, who is probably my favorite actress evar. But I digress, the story is easy to follow, and whilst simple, complements everything else in the movie quite well.

The sound and acting line up are also pretty awesome, and I feel that going into much description of either will butcher the movie and make it seem less grand than it actually is, as I'll say a lot when I'm describing stuff. But to let you know what you're getting yourself into, some notable actors/actresses/people involved are

Johnny Depp - Mad Hatter. [Sweeney Todd, Pirates of the Caribbean, Edward Scissorhands, Corpse Bride, Public Enemies, I could go on.]

Helena Bonham Carter - Red Queen. [Fight Club, Sweeney Todd, Harry Potter (As Bellatrix), Corpse Bride, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Terminator Salvation].

Anne Hathaway - White Queen. [Valentine's Day, Princess Diaries, Bride Wars].

Directed by Tim Burton.

However, despite all of this, this movie is really quite forgettable and I'd like to say that it is only good while it lasts, in my general opinion. There is nothing particularly memorable about the movie, and while it does have all the resources, and I mean, all the resources, it lacks in essence. Don't get me wrong, The Red Queen and The Mad Hatter were an absolute joy to watch, but Alice herself, was not as epic as the aforementioned.

The movie also seemed a bit too inside the box, and there wasn't any boundaries that were really pushed, which I think did more harm than good for the film. In saying this, I must also remind myself that this movie is a PG film and that young children are also the intended audience, which in a way, restricts artistic license on Burton's front.

Overall, I still hold that it is certainly a very viable movie, and viewing experience is astounding, especially in 3D.

Though it could be seen in 15 minutes, the Ron Mueck would have been the real life equivalent of Alice in Wonderland in 3D, in terms of visuals. Though confronting at times, the display is simply mesmerising in the amount of detail one can see, but not touch. Saying anything beyond this would insult the artist, my vocabulary isn't nearly as great enough as to describe the sculptures to the levels they deserve, so see it for yourself, the gallery is open until the 28th of April @ NGV.

Cheers to Matt for this hilarious Lady GaGa Chatroulette video. [If you're offended by risque [suggestive of sexual impropriety], you may not want to watch this].

Makes me smile watching this.

Now I can't say that this is much of a rant, but I really have a problem with the idea that "yeah but you're a hypocrite, you do it as well" being a valid response. The only argument against this is that "one does not act what they preach", but my main problem with this is, just because I do it as well, does it make it less truthful? Is it suddenly invalid?
I believe not. Give it some thought, preferably over this video, if you nostalgia, you're a winner.

Alright so maybe no article, but there will be next time.

So in the meantime, I'll cook up something for next week.
