tB or not tB?

That is the question.

Sorry for anyone who was expecting anything more than text in this post, due to my amazing ability to expend my internet quota, that is near impossible. Will post the usual youtube links and interesting shit in a post tomorrow when my days of internet binging is reset.

Anyone reading now can expect a post based on text, but don't let that drag you away from my frisky charm and wit. Unless you're a woman, in which case you better be making sandwiches. [I kid].

But anyway, according to my black book, I have something very important to report. That is to say, I actually have nothing to write here, so with my quick wit and unbelievably out of this world skill to be unoriginal, I have decided to dedicate this post to a few ideas, and they are in order:

-Youth Stabbings/Knife Wielding
-Teeny Boppers. [Yeah I didn't expect myself to be that desperate either].

I was going to include the four greek cardinal values at this stage, but I will only touch on them here since it's amazingly short to mention. If you're going to read anything on this blog, let it be this. No scratch that, there's better stuff after this.
The four Greek [And I call them Greek because they did precede the Christianity days] cardinal virtues are:

Prudence - able to judge between actions with regard to appropriate actions at a given time

Justice - proper moderation between self-interest and the rights and needs of others

Restraint or Temperance - practicing self-control, abstention, and moderation

Courage or Fortitude - forbearance, endurance, and ability to confront fear and uncertainty, or intimidation

Simply put, all I wanted to mention of these four virtues is that they are as relevant today as they were over 2000 years ago when history first has records of their mention. Give it a think.

On a more serious note, the latter parts of this post will be based on two relatively new concepts from a somewhat philosophical standpoint. You may want to brace yourselves as my originality deficiency goes into overdrive here. Like godamn Limit Break status.

Before I begin, I would like to put down everything that I have written down this week into my black book, starting here.

._.

Okay done.

So in Sociology class on Friday, the topic arose of the surge in youth stabbing related activity. Now I'm not going to post numbers, since they'll probably be off, but if you're up to date with the news, and you live in Melbourne, you'll know what I'm not talking out of my arse.

For those who know me in real life, you'll know I'm not a violent person, bar the occassional jabbing and homo-erotic yet non homosexual slapping and tapping. But any real violence, like gang bashings and stabbings and shootings are, in my opinion, one of the most contemptible things on the planet. Infact it is probably the second most contemptible thing on the planet in my opnion.

Why?

Because for one thing, the act of it is interfering with the life of someone else's, the invasion being the epitome of perversity. For another thing, though acting in self interest is important, that only comes second to the lives of others. And obviously, the aftermath is never constructive.

And so now that that's sorted, stabbings, particularly youth stabbings has really caught on to society. I only say this due to a small lecture on youth stabbings that happened over the course of this week. And do we need examples? We do see it on the news quite frequently, and if you live down in the Springvale area, to hear such banter is never a rarity.

The stabbings themselves require no discussion, as the dynamics of knife wounds, particularly in treating knife wounds as opposed to bullet wounds (knife wounds do more damage), can be saved for another discussion, if I feel like indulging myself over the keyboard, perhaps at school.
But what does require discussion is the fact that people feel the need to bring knives with them everywhere they go. "Just in case".

Now this is quite one sided, but quite controversial and requires discussion nonetheless.

On one hand, it's illegal, and in school's like mine, being seen with it will lead to a direct expulsion.

On the other hand, self interest. I mean, if there was any chance of me getting attacked, yeah, I'd bring a knife to defend myself. I'd shoot the guy if it meant not getting life threatening injuries, all in self interest, and the will to survival.

However, I think the question here is that if self preservation was a global maxim and it was acceptable to use it in the name of self interest, then everyone would probably be carrying knives, for intrinsic value. But those carrying knives for instrumental value would be the ones in question, and those people would be the ones who would make this law ridiculous in practice.

I could really go on, but as it is, I'm quite strapped for time, so MOVING ON BASTERDS.

I kind of forgotten how to segue from that to my thoughts on teeny boppers, so I guess this will have to do.

It's common to hear teeny bopper being tossed around these days, particularly among the youth. Just so we don't have any confusions during the duration of the post, we will be following my definition, and probably the most simplest definition, of the word teeny bopper.

Teenybopper: Someone who follows trends.
Note: There is a difference between partaking in teeny bopper activity and being a teeny bopper. For example, green jeans may be the current fad, and the current trend. I wouldn't consider someone who bought green jeans for the sake of owning green jeans a teeny bopper. In relevance to the Schopenhauer theory a few posts ago, his interest and desire is the green jeans. Buying the green jeans are purely intrinsic to him. Doing it for the sake of having green jeans.
However, one who buys the jeans in order to fit in with the crowd, i.e. doing it purely for instrumental purposes, now that is a teeny bopper.

So in conclusion, it is not necessarily what you do that makes you a teeny bopper, but rather, why you do it.

That's all there is to it. Any other definition is either an example, or just pure faggotry.

Now, so long as they don't interfere with my doings, I have nothing at all against them, except for the fact that they fail to use their minds to think about individuality, which arguably falls under the catch 22 that in being an individual, you fall under conformity. But nonetheless, what really grinds my gears are the people who actively hate and bash teeny boppers because a lot of people are doing it. This is hilarious for the simple reason of hypocrisy. Go figure.

I will update this later sometime this week, as I'm sure a really long post is harmful to my already quite limited demographic.

So until like, Tuesday night, goodnight and godspeed.
